Fire Apparatus and Trucks

Engine 1

A 2006 Emergency One Cyclone, 1500 Gallon Per Minute Pump. Engine One carries 1,000 gallons of water and 1500 feet of four inch supply hose. Engine is fully equipped with multiple pre-connected hand-lines. Engine One is powered by a Cummins diesel engine. Engine 1 is assigned to the second due engine, and the mutual aid engine to surrounding towns.

Engine 2

Engine 2 is the department’s tanker and wild land/urban interface pumper. This vehicle is 4 wheel drive, carries 1250 gallons of water, has a 30 gallon class A foam cell, a 1500 gallon portable water tank, a portable pump, and a 1000 gpm pump.

Engine 3

A 2011 Emergency One Cyclone, powered by a Cummins Diesel engine and a 1500 GPM pump. It carries 1,000 gallons of water, 2,000 feet of 4” supply line, as well as multiple hand lines. E3’s responsibility is the first due piece of apparatus to all emergency responses within city limits.

Engine 4 - NEW!

Built by Sutphen, firefighting apparatus,2021 Pumper/Tanker, with be known as Engine -4. It holds 2,000 gallon of water and has a fire pump with a rated pumping capacity of 1,500 GPM. It also has a 30 gallon firefighting foam tank allowing  the foam to proportioned into the water being applied to a fire for a more efficient extinguishment using less water when applied.

Ladder #1

A 2001 Emergency One “Quint”. Equipped with a 75’ aerial ladder with a pre-piped automatic water way, a 1500 gpm pump and 500 gallon plastic water tank. This vehicle also carries 1000’ of 4” supply hose, RIT equipment and all applicable fire suppression equipment.  Ladder 1’s responsibility is the second due ladder to emergencies within city limits as well as the mutual aid

Ladder #2

A 2014 Emergency One Cyclone, 110-foot aerial ladder, powered by a Cummins Diesel engine and has a 1,500 GPM pump. It carries 440 gallons, 1,000 feet of 4” supply line, as well as multiple hand lines. Ladder 2 has a full compliment of ground ladders, vent fans, and fire suppression tools. Ladder 2’s responsibility is the first due ladder to emergencies within city limits.

Rescue #1

A 2000 Hackney rescue body on a HME SFO cab and chassis. It carries all of our medical and rescue equipment for vehicle extrication, confined space, heights and water rescue. Rescue is equipped with a light tower, cascade system, and a 25 KW PTO generator. It is used as a command post and for rehabilitation.

Car #1

Fire Department command Vehicle is used by the Fire Chief, is a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe 4X4 that carries applicable communications, suppression, command, and medical equipment.

Car #2

Fire Department command Vehicle is used by the Deputy Fire Chief,  is a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe 4X4 that carries applicable communications, suppression, command, and medical equipment.

Brush #1

A 2009 GMC Sierra 3500, powered by a 6.2L gas motor. Brush 1 carries 225 gallons of water, as well as a compliment of brush fire fighting tools, hose, and extinguishers. Brush 1’s responsibility is to any brush fire/off-road emergency within and outside of city limits.

Utility #3

Utility 3 is a 2015 Kubota RTV X1120D powered by a 25-horsepower diesel engine. Utility 3 carries 70 gallons of water, forestry hose, and rescue equipment. Utility 3’s responsibility is to respond to brush fires/off-road emergencies that Brush 1 is not capable of responding to like Arrowhead, Moody Park, and the Rail Trails.

Additional Resources

The Claremont Fire Department also maintains a number of utility pieces of equipment for a variety of specialized purposes. Forestry trucks are used extensively throughout the drier seasons. The city-wide fire alarm system is maintained with the help of a 36' bucket truck. Our rescue boat is complemented by a rapid-response raft and two cold water rescue suits.
